FCC sampling rules

release time :2024-03-25 14:46:58

According to ISO/IEC 17065, issuing authority TCB should carry out appropriate post market surveillance activities. TCB will conduct random market inspections under the guidance of FCC. The sampling rate should be at least 5% of the total annual cases, with cases with SAR accounting for 1% (if applicable). The cycle is annual, and TCB must submit its annual report on post market supervision activities to the FCC before January 31 of the following year.

The sampling is only for the parts that have obtained FCC ID and certificates listed on the FCC official website, and SDOC is not within the scope of this sampling. IC sampling must be conducted in ISED accredited laboratories in Canadian MRA partner economies, and FCC does not have this requirement.

According to the sampling plan, TCB conducts random inspections. The FCC ID obtained will be sent by email to the corresponding applicant's contact window, and the applicant will be informed of how to handle it. The applicant needs to carefully read the sampling email and follow the instructions. The steps are as follows:

(1) Reply to TCB email within the specified time;

(2) Determine the sampling laboratory, TCB laboratory or TCB designated laboratory;

(3) Contact the corresponding laboratory;

(4) Sending samples;

(5) The laboratory conducts testing and produces reports in accordance with TCB's test plan;

(6) Submit the materials to TCB;

(7) TCB review, meet requirements, and end sampling.

The materials that need to be submitted will also be clearly explained by TCB in the inspection email, including the following materials:

(1) Scanned files/photos of the final shipping paper file manual;

(2) Close up photos of the label on the final shipment prototype;

(3) Test reports conducted in accordance with the test plan (some TCBs require the submission of original test data at the same time);

(4) Installation diagram (test photo);

(5) Product photos (internal and external).

If TCB does not cooperate with the sampling, it will be reported to the FCC official, and the FCC will revoke the ID. Equivalent to products with violation records, the probability of being sampled in the next inspection will be relatively high. The sampling requirements refer to KDB 610077.
